We love Charleston, South Carolina, and the Charleston business community. While the Accountfully family extends from Vancouver to the Virgin Islands, many of our clients are local entrepreneurs and small business owners. To support the Charleston business community, we try to play an active and supportive role to our friends and neighbors.
One of the most worthwhile Charleston Networking events, this weekly gathering at the Harbor Entrepreneur Center bills itself as an opportunity for local entrepreneurs to meet and present their startups to a thriving professional peer network in Charleston. As one of the most supportive groups of local business owners, founders, investors, and entrepreneurs, 1 Million Cups fosters an open, hospitable space for new ideas. Each week there’s an outpouring of encouragement, thoughtful questions, and helpful prodding to strengthen the presenter’s pitch. We recommend anyone looking to engage in the Charleston tech scene to put this event on the calendar.
Charleston’s most interesting and creatively inclined people flock to the local chapter’s Creative Mornings. The concept is simple: breakfast and a short talk one Friday morning each month. Taking place at different chapters across the globe, this gathering can almost be described as a movement and is always inspirational and stimulating. Even the biggest morning naysayer will have to agree that the honest storytelling and real-world advice is worth being an early bird for.
Lowcountry Local First brings different business owners and community members together each month to chat about the big wins and big challenges that come with business ownership. It’s also a great opportunity to meet (and high-five) the people behind the local businesses and brands that make the Charleston business community. And if you’re looking to get really into the local business scene, be sure to check out their annual Good Business Summit in September—we’ll be there!
For good conversation, colorful people, delicious drinks, and fun locations throughout Charleston, DIG South’s meetups are a great opportunity to engage with members of the community. There’s no event in Charleston that brings Tech talent to town like DIG, and these monthly happy hours are the perfect holdover before the annual spring conference.
Not able to make one of these Charleston networking events but want to grab coffee or a beer to talk about an idea or business?
We love meeting people in the community and helping them with their ventures—they’re what make our city home.
