Like so many of us this time of year, Accountfully starts to feel that spark of Holiday spirit once November arrives. Thanksgiving is in the air, and the magic of the holidays really begin to sink in. To spread the cheer and share our gratitude where it counts, we dedicate a day of volunteering across our communities every year. 2022 is an especially big year for us, because it is the first year we’ve been able to share our support across more than just Charleston and Nashville. In addition to our Charleston and Nashville office teams taking part, our remote team participated in their communities as well. Volunteering takes place throughout the entire month of November, with the bulk of our events focused on the 18th. Here are just a few of the exciting causes we supported.
We need to hit pause a second and give a big shout out to United Way, who helped pair us with some great volunteer opportunities. Many of our remote teams were able to find events and causes near and dear to them to take part in locally. What’s more heartwarming than helping your community? Doing it together. Many of our remote team members made plans to meet up and volunteer with their closest coworkers!

Our Pennsylvania-based team members, Nolan and Liz teamed up to help pack Thanksgiving Day meals at their local Feed the Hunger charity, and Taylor from Wichita Falls, Texas spent the day assisting her local food bank.
The 32 degree weather didn’t stop our Cincinnati Senior Accountant, Tash from helping beautify and winterize her local civic garden center. With flurries in the air, she cleaned up and prepped plants and items to be stored and set aside for the cold months ahead. One of the items she prepped is a painted flying pig statue. This is one of many seen around Cincinnati. They pay homage to the city's old nickname, Porkopolis, after the large number of Pork processing plants that were in operation way back in the day.
Our Tax Director Andrew spent his day helping Hinsdale Humane Society in Illinois. This was an easy choice for him, as he has spent many years volunteering for the organization. He even got to spend some time with a lookalike to his mixed breed dog, Ernie.
Accounting Manager Masha spent her time helping support Loving Bottoms Diaper Bank in Galesburg, Illinois. The organization provides diapers, period products, and incontinence supplies to those in need. She spent the day organizing orders to leave from their warehouse in response to their partner agencies' personalized orders.
The Charleston team joined focus to support a beautification project for the Windsor Hill Arts Infused Elementary School In Charleston. They put their painting skills to work refreshing the front outside entrance, painting the two extended day portable classrooms, and touching up painted murals on the kindergarten playground. In addition to painting, they assisted in planting fresh plants around the campus. The team capped the day of hard work at Chub and Tubb’s Tavern with some games of Pool and drinks.
Our Nashville crew braved the chill and spent the day preparing and packing shoes to be sent out for Soles4Souls. The organization collects donated shoes to support those in need of shoes for multiple reasons. The needs range from those experiencing homelessness, to children in need of athletic shoes to participate in school activities, to entrepreneurs needing inventory to sell for their first revenue source.
